Meet Jade

Hello dear one,

I’m here to guide you on your parenting, teaching, or childcare journey. And since it’s important to know who your guide will be, here’s a little about me and why I do what I do.

I’m a creative, nature-loving mama, passionate about earth-kind living, wellness, personal growth, education, parenting, and child development. I hold a deep curiosity and reverence for childhood — its unfolding stages and our role in nurturing them. I believe our own childhoods live within us and profoundly influence how we show up in every area of life. This leads me again and again to the question: “What does it take to truly thrive in this world today?”

As a child, I was blessed in many ways, yet also carried the wounds of instability and long stretches of absent parents. The odds of me growing up whole were not in my favour. Yet, with grace and the support of a few guiding angels, I had one life-changing realisation: one person’s pain can become another’s compost. I set out to turn mine into rich soil — and to grow beauty from it.

As a teenager, creativity and art lived alongside my longing for sustainability and purpose. By nineteen, I was living and learning in an eco-village, immersed in earth-kind living. Soon after, I began my studies in Early Childhood Development and Waldorf Education at the Centre for Creative Education in Cape Town.

In my twenties, I also became a mother. That new role cracked me open — dislodging old hurts that surfaced as postnatal depression, followed by a difficult separation, the challenges of single parenting, and the financial struggles that come with being a teacher in South Africa (a sad reality). Yet the love I felt for my son deepened my determination to heal and grow — not only for myself, but for him. Now, more than two decades later, he has grown into an extraordinary young man. We share an ever-evolving relationship of trust, communication, and connection. His father and I learned to co-parent peacefully, and I have grown into an empowered middle-aged woman, living a life of wellness, adventure, and deeply fulfilling service that bridges South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, working with families locally and internationally.

Through all of this, one truth has anchored me: to support children, we must support the adults around them. Children have a way of calling us into healing and growth — they are, in many ways, our teachers. Our task is to rise to that invitation, to raise ourselves even as we raise them.

Along the way, I’ve learned this liberating lesson: the goal is not perfection. The gold lies in the striving, the presence, the connection — with ourselves, with our children, and with the natural world. Parenting with love and intention is nothing short of a courageous act, even a rebellion against the status quo. It is the revolution I have dedicated my life to, because I believe peace in the world begins at home.

I hope you find here something that brings you and your children the peace, joy, and connection you need and deserve. I look forward to meeting you.

With love,
Jade
